I create original watercolor paintings and prints of home decor, food, drinks, and iconic landmarks.
Visual Identity
I wanted to create a simplistic branding style to balance against the detailed work of my paintings. The olive green and succulent represents my family history coming from the olive producing region of Tuscany. This was important to me because my family is my driving force and they encouraged me to create this business.
I wanted my work to be visually cohesive with the single olive line drawing them together *pun intended*. The three white ovals are a call out to my process; pencil sketch, pen and ink drawing, and finally the watercolor painting. The clean bold lines in Jenson Light reflect the line work I emulate in every piece.
Fun fact: My parents are named Mary & Michael, and being an only child, that makes us Mx3.
That being said… keeping the M theme going only felt right. MariaMade is not only a callout to my family but a representation of my craft. Everything is concepted, created, and produced by me, Maria.
